Alcohol, like any other substance, is addictive and can lead to life-threatening conditions. It becomes an important part of a person’s life and begins to dominate his/her personal as well as social life. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), approximately 88,000 people (nearly 62,000 men and 26,000 women) die from alcohol-related causes annually, making alcohol the fourth leading preventable cause of death in the United States.
Alcoholism makes it difficult for an individual to deal with his/her personal life as well as work-related issues and responsibilities. If a celebrity becomes addicted to alcohol, the effects can be more severe, ruining not only his/her personal life but also creating barriers to their path to success.
